Musical: "Life and Other Impossibilities" on iTunes – sort of.

Life and Other Impossibilities
Huh. Well, long after I was intending it to happen, so that I might combine for some earlier regional airplay/marketing possibilities, my CD has finally appeared on iTunes. And wouldn't you know it? The sample quality is shot all to hell – way too loud with signal clipping all over the place: you'd think it was recorded on an old cassette recorder set in front of an amp, and not in Nashville studio heaven. They're not the samples I designated, either, but all 30-second clips starting from the very beginning of the song, which frequently aren't very representative.

so should i buy it?

Well, I liked it...! But yeah, given the screwed-up quality of the sample clips, it makes you wonder or fear if the main tracks have somehow similarly been messed up, doesn't it? It's a quieter album than I'd originally intended, with a couple of hotter tracks just not being what made it through the recording sessions, for various reasons, but I do think it's a pretty good freshman effort.

Well, the quality seems not bad, although the bass is distorted like the speaker's broken on Requiem and What They Have.

That's pretty amazing though, to have a real CD on iTunes!

Yeah, it seems kind of cool. :-) I know I've not been around so much lately, as I'm just barely keeping up with my own life, Jen, but your own musical adventures have been exciting to hear about of late!

I've been having a great time with the new band I've got together! I've spent all of today arranging "The Eve Of The War" from Jeff Wayne's musical version of War Of The Worlds. It's a great piece! It#s nearly done - just the last section to do now.

Also, does that mean the actual tracks on iTunes will be the same if they are purchased, or is it just the samples?

As I wrote above, that's the scary question. I have no idea: I don't know how they managed to make such a dog's dinner of the samples, which should have been a pretty easy process. I would hope the main tracks are intact and straightforward, being right off the CD itself, but if they could screw this up, I suppose they could have muffed the other....

I'll be trying to fix that right away, of course.
