Star Trek Laugh/THE END
Heh. I just opened this note from a student, which opened by paying me a kind compliment, followed by one of the funnier (and more ambiguous) lines I've read in quite a while:
I wanted to tell you how awesome today's lecture was. It was one of the best lectures I've had that didn't come from my Dad.

I know! Great phrasing, but she seems totally cool. Wanted to talk about some of the implications of the material in greater detail.

There's a good vibe to this semester, indeed. My students REREAD. And READ AHEAD. And reconsider their assumptions. And make Latin jokes.

Awesome feedbackm actually - assuming the student wasn't being sarcastic. And, yes, it brings a smile to my face, too. There is an innocence about this.

Yes, she was being straight-up: just wanted to talk over some of the material in more detail.

I had a student tell me today that I'm "much hotter when I don't wear my glasses."

I will be wearing glasses the rest of the semester.

Even so, I still know your secret, Clark.
