Personal: Absence and reading

Odds are, I'm going to be pretty absent from here for the next month. I'm really trying to focus on my doctoral exams, and keeping up even this correspondence can still take even a few hours of my day and has to be minimized for a while. So I still haven't gotten to summing up the Notre Dame conference (did what you suggested, friede), much less noting day-to-day gems like Mark Lang calling me yesterday to wish me a Happy Feast Day for Francis of Assisi, recalling to mind our more recent Freek family tradition in South Bend of getting folks together for food and a jam session on Francis' day. Good stuff. And despite the coming of doctoral exams on November 7, 8 and 10, I still can't help but note that Robert Jordan's Knife of Dreams comes out on the 11th, and that Infinite Crisis is coming.

I guess I'll have to save a lot of that for after....
