Theological Notebook: Stanislaw Dziwisz

Huh. The other day, I just read, Benedict XVI was giving out the palliums to new archbishops--a piece of clothing that acts as a symbol of the archbishops' unity with Rome, and a particular symbol of the unity of the entire world-wide Church--and that one of the new archbishops named was Archbishop Stanislaw Dziwisz who served as the personal secretary to Pope John Paul II for more than 30 years, and who was made archbishop of Krakow, Poland, John Paul/Karol Wojtyla's old stomping grounds. A nice touch, for an old friend. I have to say, I love a good piece of personal symmetry like that.
