Five hours "practicing" for Chicago by wearing my long-neglected Oxfords while suit shopping instead of my black "walking shoes" a.k.a. runner's-shoes-in-not-very-effective-disguise. Result: I've nearly crippled myself. Why can't anyone make a shoe that's like a Nike on the inside and dressy on the outside? Surely that must exist, somewhere, right? It's too obvious an idea. I just got home and slipped on a pair of New Balance and it's like walking on air by comparison.
